A Life Memorial Hall is a place within Chinese culture used for commemorating deceased family members. Urns containing ashes are often placed in cabinets within these halls, allowing descendants to come and pay their respects.
The imagery of melons thriving and growing all around is derived from the auspicious symbolism in Chinese culture, representing the prosperity of offspring, the transmission of generations, and the continuity of life. This symbolism is derived from the “Da-Ya” section of the Book of Songs.
